Birthplace of Isaac Albéniz

Isaac Albéniz Pascual, a famous composer and pianist born in Camprodon, was a child prodigy who gave his first piano performance at the age of four at the Romea Theatre in Barcelona in 1864.

Born on 29 May 1860, Isaac Albéniz enjoyed international acclaim and is one of Catalonia’s foremost composers and pianists. As such, the Camprodon Town Council felt that it was important to pay tribute to this great local figure and have established a museum in his former home, where visitors can view a collection of pieces of furniture, objects and personal documentation that belonged to the musician which have been donated by his descendants. This museum provides a glimpse into the life of the composer.

The Isaac Albéniz de Camprodon Museum Public Foundation organises a music festival every year, with performances given by established musicians, as well as new young talents.
