Font del Botàs (Botàs Fountain)
The Font del Botàs was named after the system of gates that directed some of its water to a ‘Botàs’, a water tank found on many farmhouses that served to control and distribute the water to irrigate the fields.
The construction of this fountain was funded by the Trustees of the Germans Vila Riera Foundation and it was inaugurated in 1990 in the presence of the former president of the Government of Catalonia, Jordi Pujol. It is believed that the water comes from the Font de Sant Josep.
On the other side of the fountain, there is a man-made white stone cave where it is common to find lanterns lit and flowers left by devotees and travellers.
